THE WILD MIX SUMMER SERIES // HEARTS LIKE WILDFLOWERS
I hope you are blessed with a heart like a wildflower.
Strong enough to rise again After being trampled upon,
Tough enough to weather the Worst of the summer storms,
And able to grow and flourish Even in the most broken places.
HEARTS LIKE WILDFLOWERS
The inspiration for this post came after watching Poldark, a few episodes was just what I needed after 12 days of a horrible tummy bug. The beautiful Demelza had picked some cobalt blue cornflowers and Elizabeth pointed out that they wouldn’t last in a vase. That made my heart smile. That’s what I love about the more tender wildflowers, precious left, imprinting their beauty on your memory but not wilting in your hand, whispering their name to you lest you forget their minute majesty.
She was a wild flower In a skyscraper forest
Poking her sun fire petals out Through cracks in the cement
Climbing the buildings until she could Freely drink the sunlight
And oh how she grew Like a wildflower
In a skyscraper forest.
Here are some of my favourite hedgerow plants, to inspire your summer adventures:
Meadowsweet like glow sticks bobbing in the wayside.
The delicate wild rose, queen of the flowers.
Natures beautiful orbs of Vitamin C – blackberries, and yarrow where fairies dance because they are quite flat and sturdy for that sort of thing, by the light of meadow sweet, that you can just see at dusk, it glows like cowparsley, lighting the way!
A wild flower upon the outskirts,
Standing tall in the warm air Soaking in the sunshine
So completely unaware.
A lone stroke of paint Rippling through canvas
Unnoticed and Unannounced.
